Our Policies & Guidelines

To help ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit, we encourage all guests to review our policies before making a reservation. Understanding our guidelines helps protect your comfort, safety, and the shared experience of everyone staying at Highlands Riverbend RV Resort and Cabins.

Campground Rules & Policies


Site Assignments
While we make every effort to keep your original site, adjustments may occasionally be necessary. We sincerely apologize if this occurs and assure you that all sites are waterfront and meet our premier standards.


Speed Limit & Traffic Flow
A strict 5 MPH speed limit is enforced. The campground operates as a one-way loop.


Electricity – Monthly Stays
Guests staying 30 days or longer receive discounted rates and are responsible for metered electricity usage.


Protecting Our Grounds
Please do not drive or park on the grass.


Campfires
All fires must remain within designated fire rings. Firewood is available for purchase on-site.


Camping Units
Only one camping unit per site is permitted.


Respect for Trees & Property
Please do not cut, damage, bend, or drive nails into trees.


Vehicles & Parking
One vehicle is permitted per site. Additional parking may be arranged through the office. Hang tags must be displayed at all times.


Courtesy & Quiet Hours
Please keep noise levels respectful. Quiet Hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.


Alcohol & Substances
Alcoholic beverages must be consumed responsibly. Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.


Visitors
Visitors must depart by 11:00 PM and obtain a parking permit. A maximum of six persons per site is permitted. Campers are responsible for their guests.


Children
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.


Sewer Connections
A screw-type sewer connector is required for all RV hookups.


Check-In & Check-Out
Check-In: 1:00 PM
Check-Out: 12:00 Noon
After-hours arrivals should contact the office. Late arrivals after dark are discouraged for safety.


Pets Welcome
Pets must remain leashed in public areas (except Bark Park).
Poop & Scoop Rule strictly enforced.
Please keep vaccination records available.
Pets are not permitted in the bathhouse.


Park Care
Please help keep restrooms clean.
Flush only provided rapid-dissolving paper.
Dispose of garbage in designated dumpsters.
Smoking is prohibited in common areas.


Extended Stay Discounts
Weekly Stays: $5 off per day
Monthly Stays: 55% discount
Guests requesting stays of three months or longer may contact the office for additional discounts.


Cancellation Policy
14+ days prior: Full refund minus $50 fee
7–14 days prior: 50% refund
Less than 7 days: No refund
No Shows: Charged full reservation


Reservation fees are non-refundable. No refunds for early departures or weather conditions. July & October reservations are non-refundable. Guests may modify a reservation once within one year. Travel insurance may be purchased at checkout on our website.

RV Age Policy (10-Year Rule)


RVs over 10 years old require prior approval. Please email photos within 48 hours of booking. Unapproved units may be denied entry.


Liability & Security
Highlands Riverbend RV Resort and Cabins, Highlands Riverbend LLC, its owners, staff, and affiliates shall not be held responsible or liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal property, accidents, injuries, illness, Acts of Nature, or Acts of God including weather events, flooding, falling trees or limbs, wildlife encounters, natural disasters, or circumstances beyond management’s control.

Guests assume all risks associated with their stay.

Security cameras are in use throughout the facility, including common areas. Entry onto the property constitutes consent to video monitoring.


Booking Requirements
Primary booking guest must be 21 years or older and staying on property.


Extended Stays & Legal Compliance
Reservations must be made separately for each month to comply with North Carolina regulations. This property does not establish tenant relationships.


Government Shutdowns
In the event of a mandated shutdown, a non-refundable credit valid for one year will be issued.


Policy Updates
The park reserves the right to update rules, policies, and rates as needed.
